A uPVC panel door is built around a multi-chambered uPVC sash with an insulated panel infill, allowing it to integrate seamlessly with matching uPVC window and door systems — including woodgrain finishes such as Irish Oak, Golden Oak, and Rosewood where a consistent external look is important. Composite doors use a solid slab-style construction designed to replicate the appearance and feel of a traditional painted or stained timber entrance door.

Both options offer strong thermal performance and security, but they each have different strengths depending on the application. uPVC panel doors benefit from multi-point locking, compression sealing, and compatibility with the broader uPVC framing system, while composite doors are often chosen where achieving the most authentic timber-style entrance door appearance is the priority.

The panel infill is a closed-cell foam sandwich, which performs well thermally because the foam core has very low thermal conductivity and the welded uPVC skins seal it completely. For added security, the uPVC sash can be specified with galvanized steel reinforcement sealed inside the central cavity, and the panel itself can include an internal MDF reinforcement layer. Yes. Most panel designs are available with decorative or obscured glass cutouts, ranging from small upper-leaf insets for hallway light through to half-glazed designs. The panel and glazed sections are internally beaded for security.
